Dear Santana Families,
I hope this communication finds you and your family in good health and spirits. Recently there was action taken by the RUSD School Board of Education to continue with virtual learning within the morning instructional blocks, and to allow for student access to on-campus, in-person support in the afternoons within the school day. This opportunity is voluntary and set to begin during the week of April 26th and last until the final week of school.
To support the safety of students and staff we will have the following protocols and practices in place:
- Classrooms will have seating distanced at 6-feet for up to 14 students with sneeze guards and hand sanitizer available.
- Campus-wide protocols will be in place with mandatory face coverings, temperature checks, social distancing, symptom screening, one way hallways, controlled bathroom breaks, and other campus wide health and safety measures.
- Transportation will be limited to students who have transportation services provided within their Individual Education Plan (IEP).
The structure of the time on campus will be fully determined when the amount of commitments and requested supports are understood from your responses. Students will likely be offered a 2-hour session on campus, 2-days a week, but the frequency and availability will be determined using campus capacity guidelines provided by Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The finer details and confirmation of participation within this in-person structure will be forthcoming.
This decision will be binding as program structure, staffing commitments, resource allocation, and schedule will all be determined based on the responses that are submitted. We will follow up as best we can with families that do not respond, but a lack of response will be taken as the student being a nonparticipant in this opportunity.
