STUDENT BULLETIN

This is a special announcement for all SHS students. Please pay close attention…

Santana’s first Back to School Night is coming October 16, 2013.

That night we will get an opportunity to showcase our New Location (District Representatives will also be here) and we can show them why making this site permanent is the best thing for us and future SHS students!

How do we do this you ask? Great question!

First thing we need to know is that on that date, we would be at the middle of the SEMESTER, (Day 40 is mid-term ad we will be at 43) so we should all have acquired at least 17.5 credits as of then.

Second, we need to be here in masses. We need to have a great turn out. Please start mentioning this now to your parents and get them to commit to be here to see how well you have been doing and how great the change has been.

·         We know the time will be an issue, but let them know that we are working on having a TACO Person here selling Tacos for families so that dinner is not impacted.

Third, we are offering CAR Hours for them attending as well as for the students.

·         2 hours for parents and students.

Fourth Door prizes and raffles for first 15 families.

Seniors, this is a wonderful opportunity to bring in your family so that you can all discuss your progress and anticipated graduation.

·         Mr. Duran will be available for questions too related to FAFSA (Financial Aid) and Senior activities

o   Such as Senior Breakfast for graduates, Prom , Grad Night and Graduation.

Juniors and Sophomores..

·         Please also bring in your parents, we want them to know that you are on track and how we will work to get you to graduate early or to even return to RHS or NHS, but their involvement and attendance at these meetings are paramount.

DO NOT MISS IT…

Santana Staff and ASB looks forward to seeing you here that NIGHT!

·     Remember: Save the DATE October 16, 2013

·         All Students:  Board Policy states students are able to get 1 credit per 12 hours of work.  All students should pay close attention to this if they want to get a clear idea of where they are at and what they are averaging per individual credit earned.

·       Seniors:  Any senior wanting to gain 5th year senior status must have 160 credits    at the end of the school year.

·        Back to School Night will be October 16 from 5-7 p.m.  Sam’s Club will be here as a sponsor of the event.

·     "Taco Vendor Needed for Back to school Night. If you know a vendor, please have them leave a business card with Mr. Munoz"

Students: The Santana Web site is up and running at full speed. Feel free to navigate it and see all the wonderful things you can learn about the school and our staff. I also have a treat for anyone who can find needed edits. If there is a page that needs updating that we have not found, let me know and I will verify and get you a treat. Muñoz.
