Santana Beach Trip [Pictures]

The Santana High School physical education and college and career classes spent the day in Hermosa Beach on Tuesday (September 22, 2015).  Students were rewarded with this adventure for their successful attendance and participation in their classes thus far since the new school year began.  It was a full day of activities that included swimming in the ocean, soccer, volleyball, football, walking on the pier and exploring the shoreline.  Ms. Mauna took a group of students walking 2.1 miles to Manhattan Beach to Manhattan Creamery to eat their famous ice cream sandwiches.  They certainly put the work in for it after walking a total of over 4 miles for it!  Other students found other food options to try like pizza, hamburgers, subway and snacks.  They all seemed to enjoy the day with plenty of sun and fun.  Many of them met Mrs. Canales' mom who lives in the area and walked down to say hi to everyone.  Napping was a popular activity on the bus by the day's end. Hopefully we'll be celebrating more success with other activities.  A big thanks to Mr. Edmunds and Mr. Galvan who are so supportive of our students learning and celebrating their accomplishments!
